On November 26, 2019, the first China Magnetic Fusion Energy Conference was held in Leshan, Sichuan. At the meeting, an important piece of information was exposed. China's new generation of controllable nuclear fusion research device China Circulator II M has been successfully constructed and is expected to be put into operation in 2020.
China Circulator II M adopts more advanced structure and control method
China Circulator 2M is located in Sichuan and was built by the Southwest Institute of Physics of China Nuclear Group Corporation. It is a new generation of controlled nuclear fusion research device in China. This device uses hydrogen and deuterium gas as "fuel". Injected into the device and broken down, so as to produce near-core-level plasma, which is ultimately used to simulate nuclear fusion reactions.
Compared with similar devices in China, the Chinese Circulator II M has a large scale and high parameters. It adopts a more advanced structure and control method, which can increase the plasma current from 1 megaampere in China's existing device to 3 In megaamperes, the plasma temperature is expected to exceed 200 million degrees Celsius.
Prior to June 5, the main column of the magnet coil of the main unit of China Circulator 2M was successfully delivered, and the core components of the main coil of the main unit of China Circulator 2M were delivered, laying the foundation for the overall installation. Editor / Zhang Xianglong
