Recently, the "Consultation and Evaluation Report on the Feasibility Study Report on the Phase I Project of Changsha Rail Transit Line 7 (Yuntang Station-Wulipai Station)" was approved by the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

The project starts at Yuntang Station, is laid along Huijin Road, Shaoshan Road and Bayi Road, and ends at Wulipai Station. The line is 17.308 kilometers long, all of which are underground lines. There are 16 stations, all of which are underground stations, including 9 transfer stations. Build a new double-decker depot on the South Third Ring Road, a main substation of the Shaoshan Road Vehicle Inspection Station, use the second control center of Duhua Road, and use the Huangli Road Vehicle Base of Line 6 for overhaul.
The vehicles are A-type vehicles, 1500V DC overhead catenary power supply, and the maximum operating speed is 80 km/h. The initial, short-term, and long-term use of 6 vehicles.
According to reports, the estimated total investment of this project is 16.559 billion yuan (including 301 million yuan for the simultaneous implementation of the Red Star Market Station Line 8 part and the rapid transformation of Shaoshan Road). Among them, the capital accounted for 40% of the total investment, which was solved by the financial funds arranged by Changsha City; the funds other than the capital were solved by the project legal entity using domestic bank loans. The construction period is 72 months.
In the future, after the first phase of Changsha Rail Transit Line 7 (Yuntang Station-Wulipai Station) is completed and put into operation, it will help Changsha to vigorously implement the "three highs and four new" strategy, and focus on building a modern urban circle of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan, and make further use of it Multi-level rail transit network integration benefits, building a comprehensive transportation hub system, alleviating the contradiction between north-south traffic supply and demand in central urban areas, and better meeting the needs of high-quality economic and social development and high-quality travel of the people.
