Recently, the "Nanning Port Master Plan (2035)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), the result of the revision of the Nanning Port Master Plan, has been approved. The development of the Xijiang Economic Belt is of great significance.

According to the "Plan", Nanning Port is divided into Liujing Port Area, Niuwan Port Area, Central City Port Area, Hengxian Port Area, Long'an Port Area, and Mashan Port Point. The original central city port area is divided into main responsibilities according to functions. The central city port area with passenger transport functions and the Niuwan port area, which mainly undertakes freight transport functions, further clarify the functional positioning of Nanning Port’s various port areas and ports based on the nature of Nanning Port’s port and the characteristics of Nanning’s urban development and industrial layout. It better reflects the intensive use of shoreline resources and the large-scale and professional development of the port area, which matches the city's functions and industrial layout. The "Plan" also adjusted the coastline layout of some ports in Nanning Port, improved the port functions, and added freight and passenger coastlines according to the industrial layout. Among them, the Niuwan Port Area has added bulk cargo functions and will effectively undertake Nanning in the future. In addition, the "Plan" also added a number of water passenger shorelines and port support system shorelines to make a good layout for the next step of Nanning Port's development of water tourism and the construction of work ship docks.
