On September 11, 2021, COSCO SHIPPING's Beibu Gulf Port "Qinzhou Port-Chittagong" South Asia YCX line successfully maiden voyage. With Qinzhou as the starting point, a closed route between Qinzhou Port-Hainan Yangpu-Klang Chittagong-Singapore-Qinzhou Port was formed, achieving zero breakthrough in the South Asian route of Beibu Gulf Port Qinzhou Port Area.

At 14:00 that day, the steam whistle of the "COSCO SHIPPING Caiyunhe" steamer at Berth 2# of the Beibu Gulf Container Terminal (Dalanping South Operation Area of Qinzhou Port) sounded, and the "Qinzhou Port-Chittagong" South Asia YCX route was officially maiden. The direct import and export services between Qinzhou Port and Bangladesh, Singapore and other countries provided by customers in the hinterland have started, which is more time-efficient and economical than the original barge operation.
The first South Asia route of "Qinzhou Port-Chittagong" of Beibu Gulf Port is operated by COSCO SHIPPING Group. At this stage, three 1,200-box container ships have been put into use, calling on weekly shifts. This is also the first direct route from Beibu Gulf Port to Bangladesh among the three newly opened Southeast Asian routes in 2021. At present, there are 22 routes between Beibu Gulf Port and ASEAN countries.
Up to now, there are 54 domestic and foreign trade container routes in Beibu Gulf Port, which basically cover ASEAN countries and major coastal ports across the country. Among them, COSCO SHIPPING has opened 10 domestic and foreign trade routes in Beibu Gulf Port: foreign trade routes can directly reach Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, South Africa, Brazil and other regions; domestic trade routes connect Jinzhou, Yingkou, Tianjin, Rizhao, Lianyungang, Ningbo, Quanzhou, Gaolan, Zhanjiang, Haikou, Xiaochan Beach and other places.
Guangxi is an important node to promote the construction of the One Belt One Road, and Beibu Gulf Port plays a role as a gateway connecting ASEAN. In the next step, COSCO SHIPPING will continue to work with Beibu Gulf Port to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, give full play to the industrial clusters and resource advantages of Beibu Gulf Port hinterland, continue to optimize route resource allocation, enhance port radiation capacity, and jointly build a large port with tens of millions of TEUs in Beibu Gulf to help The construction of a new land-sea channel in the west serves China-ASEAN economic and trade development.
