The development of transportation will provide strategic support for economic growth, forge ahead in the world's transportation power, and provide a strong guarantee for the Chinese nation to become strong. Recently, the General Office of Gansu Provincial Government issued the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan of Gansu Province Comprehensive Transportation System Development Plan" (referred to as the "Plan"), proposing to build the main skeleton of a comprehensive transportation network of "two corridors, six axes and ten direct connections" to optimize external integration. The spatial pattern of transportation corridors is to accurately construct a modern comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network that covers urban and rural areas, with complete functions and strong support. With the "four economies" of hub economy, high-speed rail economy, channel economy, and route economy as the starting point, we will cultivate new forms of integration and development. Improve the quality and comprehensive benefits of transportation development.

By 2025, Gansu will initially form a comprehensive transportation channel connecting the east to the west and expanding from the south to the north, and a comprehensive transportation network that complements each other by rail and air, efficiently connects, and is convenient and developed; the province’s total railway operating mileage will reach 8,500 Kilometers, highway mileage of 160,000 kilometers, highways and first-class highways completed mileage of 8,000 kilometers, county (cities, districts) highway coverage rate reached 98.8%, and the number of civil transportation airports reached 11.

Expand inter-provincial interaction and cooperation space

Since ancient times, Gansu has been an important channel connecting the Asia-Europe Continental Bridge and an important transportation hub connecting the southwest and northwest. According to the "Plan", Gansu will build the main skeleton of a comprehensive transportation network of "two corridors, six axes, and ten direct connections", forming an international transportation corridor and a national comprehensive transportation corridor that "connects from the east to the west and expands from the south to the north", and integrates into the domestic cycle, Domestic and international double circulation.

Specifically, Gansu will construct a "cross"-shaped international corridor, namely the east-west land bridge international corridor, and the north-south new land-sea international corridor to the west, which will be integrated into the construction of the Belt and Road. The Land Bridge International Corridor is composed of a channel network supported by the Longhai-Lanxin Middle Route and the South and North auxiliary passages. The Western Land-Sea New Corridor International Corridor is mainly composed of the Lanyu, Lanhe, Xicheng and other east-west double-lane corridors and the northern Lanyin expansion channel. , Connecting major cities in the province, connecting major domestic economic zones in series, and efficiently connecting the international transportation network to the outside world.

The six inter-city transportation development axes are centered on the Lanzhou metropolitan area, connecting the main node cities in the province, and radially connecting the surrounding important urban agglomerations, further enhancing the development momentum of the Lanxi urban agglomeration, and supporting the implementation of ecological protection and high-quality development strategies in the Yellow River Basin. Increase the ability to communicate east and south. Ten direct inter-provincial channels take major cities as nodes to expand the space for inter-provincial interaction and cooperation.

For the development of economic circles, transportation infrastructure is the key. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Gansu will strengthen the rapid transportation links between the central city of Lanzhou and surrounding counties (cities, districts) and key towns, plan and construct the intercity railway loop passage of the Greater Lanzhou Metropolitan Circle, and gradually build the main city of Lanzhou and the surrounding urban areas 1 hour economic circle.

Gansu will further improve the transportation network in the southeast of Gansu, the Hexi Corridor, and ethnic regions to promote coordinated regional development. In the southeastern part of Gansu, build a multi-level interconnected transportation network with Tianshui, Pingliang, Qingyang, and Longnan as important nodes; accelerate the construction of Jiujia Expressway to improve the capacity of intercity rapid traffic; promote Wu, Jin, and Zhang The urban cluster transportation network is interconnected and interconnected to strengthen the development capacity and radiation level of the Hexi Corridor axis linkage; accelerate the completion of the shortcomings of the railway and highway infrastructure in Linxia and Gannan areas.

Expanding the scale of the “point-and-pole belt” of transportation and travel integration

Promoting the cross-domain integrated development of transportation is a key task in Gansu during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. According to the "Plan", Gansu will use the "four economies" of hub economy, high-speed rail economy, channel economy and road development economy as the starting point to promote the in-depth integration of transportation and related industries, foster integrated development of new business formats, and comprehensively improve the quality of transportation development And comprehensive benefits.

Gansu will focus on the efficient development and utilization of railway, highway, and waterway resources, promote the in-depth integration and development of transportation and other related industries, cultivate and build road-based economic industrial clusters; deeply explore the cultural tourism resources with value endowments along highways and navigable river sections. Expand the service functions of highway stations, service areas, entrances and exits, and adjacent areas, create a highway (waterway) tourism transportation network that connects scenic routes, mutual transportation of passengers, fast forward and slow travel, and gradually expands the "point and extreme belt" of transportation and travel integration scale.

The emergence of new technologies and industries has ushered in new development opportunities for the transportation industry. The "Planning" proposes to aggregate advantageous agricultural industrial resources, strengthen rural roads to link up and maintain core areas, pastoral complexes, modern agricultural industrial parks, agricultural products logistics distribution areas and other regional capabilities, and form a new model of integrated development of rural roads and modern agriculture; centering on transportation Industrial development needs, promote the construction of specialized transportation industry bases such as modified asphalt, high-quality commercial concrete, sand and gravel materials, equipment and facilities, and prefabricated components, and promote the development of the entire industry chain of transportation smart manufacturing; continue to improve highway gas stations, gas stations, and charging stations The layout of energy networks such as piles and hydrogen refueling stations will form a transportation energy industry structure with oil and gas supply as the mainstay and electricity and hydrogen energy as the supplement.
