In order to accelerate the realization of the goal of building a strong transportation country, open up the artery of economic development. The reporter learned from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation on September 29 that the "Fourteenth Five-Year Development Plan for the Comprehensive Transportation System of Guangdong Province" was officially issued. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Guangdong will arrange an investment of approximately 202 billion yuan in major transportation infrastructure projects.

In terms of building a world-class airport cluster, explore the establishment of a joint control center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to promote information sharing and coordinated management and control between airports in the Greater Bay Area. Strengthen the rapid rail transit connection between Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and the Pearl River Delta Hub (Guangzhou New) Airport, Shenzhen Baoan International Airport and Huizhou Airport, coordinate the layout of passenger and cargo transportation between airports, and promote the coordinated development of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and the Pearl River Delta Hub (Guangzhou New) Airport , To jointly build a Guangzhou-Foshan international aviation hub, and strengthen Huizhou Airport to assume the function of Shenzhen's second airport.

The aviation network is further expanded. Accelerate the construction of a spokes route network with international routes, domestic trunk routes, and regional branch routes supporting each other, with Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport as the center. Improve the internationalization level of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, and build an international airline network connecting global innovative cities, hotspot cities in Europe, America, and Australia, and node cities in emerging markets of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Rail transit is an important engine for regional economic development. The plan focuses on space and proposes to create a "Greater Bay Area on Track". These include: the construction of Guangzhou-Zhuhai (Macau) high-speed rail, Zhuhai-Zhaoqing high-speed rail and other projects, promoting the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail and Guangzhou-Zhuhai intercity into the central urban area of Guangzhou, studying the new Guangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed rail corridor, and constructing the Guangzhou-Shenzhen and Guangzhou-Zhuhai express corridors . In conjunction with the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway, the Zhongshan connecting line of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway will be constructed simultaneously to form a direct railway passage connecting Zhuhai to Shenzhen via Nansha and the Pearl River Estuary. Improve the layout of railway hubs in the Greater Bay Area, strengthen the efficient connection of high-speed railways, intercity railways, and urban rail transit, promote the interconnection of intercity railways and urban rail transit systems, and comprehensively promote the integration of multiple networks of rail transit.

The layout of the passage across the Pearl River Estuary will also be further improved. Speed up the construction of highways such as the Deep-Medium Corridor, the Huangmao Sea Cross-sea Corridor, the Lion Ocean Corridor, and the Lianhuashan Corridor, and simultaneously improve the supporting distribution roads on both sides of the strait. Promote the construction of railway passages such as the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway, the Foshan-Dongguan Intercity Railway, and the Zhongnanhu Intercity Railway, study and demonstrate the Lingdingyang Corridor with railway functions as the main function, and plan the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Intercity Railway. Optimize the layout of passenger terminals on both sides of the strait, support the development of high-speed passenger transport on the Pearl River Estuary, and create a "water expressway".

Solving the problem of congestion in road sections such as the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway has also been put on the agenda. The plan proposes to focus on resolving the problem of normal congestion in local sections such as Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway and Guang-Ao Expressway. Optimize the connection between the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway and the collection and distribution roads of the ports along the line to smooth the operation of the road network.

Strengthen the connection with Hong Kong and Macau. Speed up the construction of Shenzhen’s eastern border crossing highway, plan and study the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Express Rail, and study the passage from Shenzhen to Zhuhai and Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to better play the role of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Promote the reconstruction of Huanggang Port and the renovation and upgrading of Luohu, Shenzhen Bay, Shatoujiao and other ports, study the port of the pedestrian tunnel under the Wanchai River, improve the port traffic distribution network, and realize more convenient connection with Hong Kong and Macao.

The integration of transportation in the metropolitan area can make urban agglomerations become a source of power. The plan proposes to build a one-hour commuter circle in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary, Shanchaojie, and Zhanmao, focusing on enhancing the connectivity of rail transit and highways. Accelerate the construction of Guangzhou-Foshan Ring Road, Shenzhen-Huizhou and other intercity railways, explore the feasibility of extending Guangzhou and Shenzhen subway lines to surrounding towns, and enhance the rapid rail transit connection between the central urban areas of Guangzhou and Shenzhen and surrounding cities. Carry out research on the planning of suburban railways in the metropolitan area, and promote the integration of urban rail transit planning, construction and operation. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
