The Taihu Tunnel is the key control node of the Suxi-Changzhou South Expressway. On October 9, 2021, the longest lake-bottom tunnel under construction in China undertaken by the Third Aviation Administration-the key control project of the Changzhou-Wuxi section of the Suxi-Changnan Expressway was completed. .
The Changzhou-Wuxi section of the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou South Expressway starts from Qianhuang Town, Wujin District, Changzhou City, ends at Nanquan Town, Wuxi City, and connects to the Taihu Expressway. The total length of the route is 43.9 kilometers, of which the Taihu Tunnel is 10.79 kilometers long and 43.6 meters wide. The single hole has a clear width of 17.45 meters and two-way six lanes. It is currently the longest under-lake tunnel under construction in China. The main structure of the Taihu Tunnel adopts the same "two-hole and one-tube corridor" structure as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Tunnel, which is wider than the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge tunnel. The main construction of the tunnel passes through the scenic area of Taihu Lake.
The tunnel construction of this project adopts the four-cang flow operation construction mode. By effectively shortening the length of the steel sheet pile cofferdam, the water blocking length to the waters of Taihu Lake is reduced, which not only meets the width of the lake water circulation runoff, but also prevents the growth of cyanobacteria. The Taihu tunnel wind pavilion in the shape of "jasper snail" has become a landmark landscape project of Taihu Lake. Keywords: engineering video, construction video
After the completion of the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou South Expressway, the construction of the expressway network will be improved. After the project is opened to traffic, the free transfer of traffic flows between the three cities around the city will be realized, effectively alleviating the traffic pressure on the Wuxi and Suzhou sections of the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. The economic development of the triangle is of great significance. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
