Two large highway projects are getting results in Russia. One of the projects is the construction of a section of the Krasnodar-Kerch highway, and the other is the Kemerovo bypass in Siberia. This work will improve Russia's connectivity. However, Russia’s strategic changes are increasing attention to the repair and maintenance of existing roads rather than building new roads.
The second phase of the A-289 Krasnodar-Kerch highway will cost nearly US$754 million. The project includes the construction of some civil structures, the largest of which will be a 1km bridge across the Protoka River. There will also be 16 small bridges to cross the canal, as well as 6 multi-storey overpasses and 7 overpasses.
The contract also includes drainage facilities for agricultural areas and some rest facilities for drivers. The A-289 route is 119 kilometers long. Keywords: international engineering news, foreign engineering project information
At the same time, the Kemerovo Bypass is 47 kilometers long and is expected to cost US$765 million. The construction project will start in December 2021 and will take up to four years to complete. However, the financing of the project has not yet been finalized.Editor/Baohongying
