The new high-speed traffic highway project in St. Petersburg, Russia has been revised. The highway intersection on Moskovsky Prospekt has been redesigned and approved. The new design requires a two-story structure, with the lower level being the same height as the existing railway bridge across Moscow Street. At the same time, the upper floor will be about 18m above Moscow Avenue. The highway construction project cost nearly 369 million U.S. dollars, and the site preparation cost nearly 164 million U.S. dollars.
Roads in St. Petersburg are also planned for maintenance and repair work. The budget for 2022 is 109.3 million U.S. dollars. The goal is to rebuild more than 75 kilometers of roads between 2021-2023. At the same time, repairs and maintenance work will be extended to a total of 135.6 kilometers of roads. Currently, 71.4% of the city’s roads are in satisfactory condition, but the improvement plan aims to increase this number to 85%.
