After signing a $299 million deal with Dubai Aerocity Corporation (DACC), the UAE Central Cooling System Company (Empower) took over the district cooling system at Dubai International Airport. According to a statement, the transaction for the 110,000 cold storage ton facility was completed through a combination of internal accruals and debt financing from local international banks.

Sheikh Ahmed said: "The transaction is part of the $6.81 billion public-private partnership (PPP) portfolio announced by the Dubai Ministry of Finance at the recent Dubai International PPP Conference.
