The government of President Samia Suluhu Hassan (Samia Suluhu Hassan) will accelerate the pace of improving Tanzania’s investment environment, attracting investors who can create jobs and earn billions of shillings in taxes for the country, and 2 Large-scale mining projects will start operations in the country in 2022.
Two major mining projects
On October 26, 2021, Doto Biteko, Minister of Mines, stated that a total of US$531 million will be invested in the Lindi Jumbo Graphite and Nyanzaga Gold projects. Among them, 489 million US dollars (approximately 1.12 trillion shillings) will be invested in the Nyanzaga gold project in Mwanza; and the remaining 42 million US dollars (nearly 100 billion shillings) will be invested in Lindi Junbo Graphite Mine project. Minister Bitkuo said: “These two projects are completing negotiations with the Tanzanian government, including the government’s stake in these two projects. Employ more than 350 people." Actual mining development will begin in 2022.
