On November 10, 2021, the People's Government of Liuyang City, Hunan and Changsha State-owned Assets Management Group Co., Ltd. jointly signed the "Liuyang City Yonghe General Aviation Industry Base Project Strategic Cooperation Agreement." The reporter of Jiandao.com learned from the signing ceremony that the Yonghe General Aviation Airport, which can be used for commercial passenger flights of more than 10 aircraft, will officially start construction in the first half of 2022.

Strive to build Hunan's backbone airport

It is understood that the Liuyang Yonghe General Aviation Industry Base project is located in the mining area of the former Hunan Phosphorus Chemical Industry Plant, with a planned land area of approximately 4.9 square kilometers. The general airport as the basis of the project is rated A1 (a general airport for commercial passenger flight activities of aircraft with more than 10 seats). It is the only general airport in Changsha that has comprehensive development conditions for the low-altitude field. Its planned runway length is 1,200 meters. The total investment is about 5 billion yuan. At the same time, the project will also build a general aviation industrial park covering the entire industry chain of general aviation research and development, general aviation manufacturing, and general aviation cultural tourism.

At present, the project has been included in the "Hunan General Airport Layout Plan (2016-2030)", and the airport site selection and site demonstration report, the civil aviation Hunan Supervision Bureau site review opinions, and the conceptual planning plan have been completed. Strive to complete the key procedures for the construction of the general aviation airport for approval before the Spring Festival.

In the future, we will make every effort to build the Liuyang Yonghe General Aviation Airport project into the central backbone airport in Hunan, and build the Yonghe General Aviation Industrial Base into the largest general aviation industrial park in Changsha, the best in Hunan, and the best general aviation industrial park in Hunan and Jiangxi, and create a national low-altitude airspace management for Hunan.
