The project has been designated as the second phase of the busway project in the east of Auckland. The project is expected to cost nearly 608 million U.S. dollars (867 million New Zealand dollars). Construction will begin in 2022 and is expected to be completed in 2026. The first phase of the project has been basically completed and will be opened to traffic in December 2021. All in all, the construction cost of the bus lane is 981.3 million US dollars (1.4 billion New Zealand dollars). This work is of great significance because New Zealand’s public transport facilities need to be further developed.
Auckland bus lane
The bus lane will connect Pakuranga and Panmure. The construction project includes the construction of a new bridge across the Tamaki River. After the completion of the project, it will help improve public transport facilities in Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, and to a certain extent solve the problem of traffic congestion during peak hours, because the bus lane will carry about 30,000 passengers every day.
At the same time, the necessary upgrade project for the improvement of SH10KaeoBridge is underway. The earthwork part of the project cost more than 28 million U.S. dollars (40 million New Zealand dollars) and is being carried out first. The new bridge is 110m long, which is longer than the existing structure. The project is planned by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). Keywords: engineering construction, engineering news
