The project is located in the Aksu area of Xinjiang and the first division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The railway leads from the southern end of the west side of Satma Station on Xinjiang South Xinjiang Railway and passes through Awati County to Alar City. The line is 114.6 kilometers long. It is a national railway class II passenger and freight railroad with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. , Reserve electrification conditions. There are four railway stations in Satma, Awati, Tapen and Alar along the whole line. The track laying will be officially started in September 2021, and it is expected to open and operate in 2022.

Wang Haiyan, manager of the A-A railway project department of China Railway First Bureau Group, said that the A-A railway project has been formally laid on September 26, 2021, with 89 various machinery and equipment and more than 800 construction personnel. In the future, the completion and opening of the Azerbaijani Railway will make up for the historical gap that Awati County and Alar City are not accessible by train.
