Bangladesh is one of the countries attending the Glasgow Conference. They called on the richest country in the world and the largest greenhouse gas emitter in history to fulfill an overdue commitment to provide 100 billion U.S. dollars in climate funding each year. The Secretary of State in the UK Cabinet Office, Alok Sharma, also chair of the COP26 climate summit, announced the amount of funding for Bangladesh. The information released by the FCDO did not confirm whether any or all of the 120 million pounds will be paid within 6 years in the form of non-repayable grants.
