The 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, which has just ended in Senegal, has been widely praised in African countries. After decades of development, the road of China-Africa cooperation has flourished to "connect the world and benefit mankind." CRRC has a long history of friendship with Africa for its mission.
The Tanzania-Zambia Railway is a great gift given to the African people by the New China, which is waiting to be rejuvenated, given the joint efforts of Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou and other leaders of the first generation of New China and the leaders of Tanzania and Zambia in the 1970s. It also promoted the deep friendship between Chinese rail transit industrial enterprises and the African people.
In order to actively respond to the state's call to support the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway, technical backbones from China's rail transit industry enterprises such as CRRC Sifang and CRRC Sifang went to this hot spot to conduct vehicle dynamics tests, vehicle wood structure design, and electrical automation. He has made outstanding contributions to the design of the control system, the compilation of tutorials, and the training of technical personnel stationed abroad.
In 2021, under the Belt and Road Initiative, CRRC will take the initiative to meet the development needs of various parts of Africa, and build a cooperative development model of consultation, joint contribution and sharing with all parties in Africa. At present, CRRC's products and services have covered nearly 30 countries in Africa, greatly improving the efficiency of local passenger and freight transportation, and effectively promoting the modernization of the rail transit industry in Africa.
CRRC in Egypt
On September 7, 2021, the first batch of municipal electric trains developed by CRRC Sifang for the 10th Ramadan Railway Project in Egypt arrived at the port of Alexandria. Egyptian President Sisi personally unveiled the train and boarded it for a visit.
These "CRRC" EMUs are designed to have a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. They are the first 25KV AC catenary-powered trains in Egypt. They are also Egypt’s fastest urban EMUs. According to the plan, it is expected to be officially put into operation in 2022.
CRRC in Kenya
Kenya's Mombasa-Nairobi Railway project is an important project for CRRC to actively participate in the construction of the One Belt One Road. CRRC Qishuyan has won 56 Kenyan locomotives and maintenance service contracts with its professional advantages in the integration of construction and repair in the field of diesel locomotives.
In order to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway, Qishuyan Company established the Kenya Maintenance Division and opened the "4S" locomotive maintenance shop in Kenya, Africa. Provide professional, efficient and reliable locomotive maintenance services through meticulous operation and maintenance of the maintenance department.
CRRC in Guinea
The Guinea-Da-San Railway is a special railway from Dabilón Port in Guinea to the Shengtu mining area. As a supporting project for the transportation of bauxite mining in the Shengtu mining area, it is an important infrastructure serving bauxite mining enterprises along the line. In July 2021, Guinea Dasheng Railway's first 10,000-ton heavy-duty train was successfully launched. The CDA5A1 diesel locomotive developed by CRRC Qishuyan Company provides traction for this train, and the beautiful orange body becomes the focus of attention.
For the Dasheng railway project, CRRC Yangtze River Group provides a comprehensive coverage and a large number of products, mainly involving gondola cars, flat cars, ballast cars, diesel tanks and other models of products. At the same time, CRRC Yangtze Group also signed a truck and vehicle maintenance entrustment contract with a Guinean customer, realizing a new transition from "going out" to "walking in" to "embedding in".
CRRC in Nigeria
In June 2021, the first modern two-track standard gauge railway in West Africa, Nigeria's Lagos-Ibadan Railway (Rye Railway), held its opening ceremony in Lagos. The diesel locomotive specially developed by CRRC Qishuyan for the railway made a brilliant appearance at the opening ceremony.
On October 25, 2021, CRRC Dalian and China Civil Engineering successfully signed the contract for the "Lagos Blue Line Light Rail EMU Procurement Project in Nigeria". Obtained an order from the Nigerian urban rail transit market.
CRRC in South Africa
In May 2021, two CKD8F diesel locomotives exported by CRRC Dalian to the South African Mining Company arrived at the mining site. The locomotive is a mainline passenger and freight traction locomotive with a gauge of 1067mm, a power of 1715kw, and a maximum operating speed of 100km/h. It will be used for ore transportation in South Africa, effectively reducing the turnaround time of ore export.
CRRC Yongji Electric has established a localization company in South Africa, responsible for localization execution planning and joint venture partner investigation. In order to promote the development of the African market, CRRC Yongji Electric uses Yongji South Africa as its bridgehead to integrate resources and build platforms. Its business development continues to radiate the entire African region, focusing on the South African, Nigerian, Egyptian and Kenyan markets. Several countries have provided various locomotive accessories including main generators, traction motors, locomotive wheel sets, passenger wheel sets, EMU motors, gearboxes, etc., and have contracted urban rail motor repair services for many times.
CRRC in Ethiopia
In 2016, the passenger electric locomotive developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Machinery Co., Ltd. pulled out passenger trains from the Rab station in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, which marked Ethiopia's entry into the era of electrified railways.
This type of locomotive can tow 3500-4000-ton heavy-duty trains, which can greatly improve the freight efficiency of Ethiopian commodities and further strengthen economic ties with neighboring countries such as Djibouti.
CRRC in Mozambique
In 2014, CRRC Shandong established the first overseas maintenance base in Mozambique, opening a new overseas business model.
In 2016, the President of Mozambique Nyusi also came to CRRC Shandong Company and expressed his sincere appreciation and inscription on Shandong Company's excellent completion of the Mozambique truck repair project and its positive contribution to the development of Mozambique's railway industry. In 2021, CRRC Shandong signed a contract for 300 gondola cars with Mozambique, and the project has already begun.
CRRC in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Since 2016, CRRC Sifang has produced railway passenger cars for Congo (DRC) many times. The National Railway Company of Congo (DRC) spoke highly of CRRC Sifang's contribution to the Congo (DRC) railway passenger car project, and highly affirmed the performance of the company's products and the dedicated work of on-site service personnel.
