In the Luban workshop in Morocco, 10,000 kilometers away, a number of professional technical teachers from Ai Asani I Institute of Applied Technology carried out the final installation and commissioning of machinery and equipment from China. This is the 12th Luban workshop built by Tianjin in Africa. In December 2021, it will be officially inaugurated and operated.

Luban Workshop is a well-known brand of humanities exchange between China and foreign countries that was created and first practiced in Tianjin. It is a major innovation in the international development of China's vocational education. In September 2018, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation proposed that China will set up 10 Luban workshops in Africa to provide vocational skills training to African youth. Over the past three years, Tianjin has overcome the adverse effects of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and continued to promote the construction of African Luban workshops. Now, from East Africa to South Africa, from West Africa to North Africa, in Djibouti, Egypt, Mali, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia...Tianjin shares outstanding vocational education achievements with Chinese characteristics with Africa. Luban Workshop, the concrete practice of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and building a China-Africa community with a shared future, is helping African youths dream of setting sail.

Learn technology at home

"In the past, my biggest dream was to study railway technology in China. Now I can learn Chinese standards, Chinese equipment and Chinese technology without going abroad." It is the first Luban workshop set up by China in Africa. Due to the implementation of order-based training, the first batch of trainees, Tiny Aberdokkad, has conducted many practical trainings on the Yaji Railway. Thinking that in the near future, he will officially become a member of the Yaji Railway, he said excitedly: "The Luban Workshop has allowed us to realize our dreams of studying and employment at our doorstep."

In the past three years, the African Luban Workshop has realized the overall output of Chinese standards, Chinese models, Chinese equipment and Chinese solutions. More and more young Africans are eager to improve their skills through Luban workshops and find new opportunities for employment and development.

In Kenya, Machakos University student Peter Kariuki sincerely thanked Luban Workshop for this special "training class", "Luban Workshop is very different. In addition to providing us with a traditional academic research platform, it also helps us master The practical skills needed for employment."

In Egypt, Mohamed Baiomi, a teacher at the Cairo Advanced Maintenance Technical School in Egypt, who is studying in the Luban workshop, said: “Through the training, the students have obtained the corresponding qualification certificates, and I also learned the world-class technology here. These will be passed on to more students. Thank you Tianjin! Thank you China!” In the past year of operation, the Egyptian Luban Workshop has completed skill training for more than 300 teachers and students. At present, the African Luban Workshop has opened 27 majors, covering 11 major categories, and has cultivated a large number of technical talents who are familiar with Chinese technology, understand Chinese craftsmanship, and recognize Chinese products for the cooperative countries. At the same time, it has also cultivated urgently needed African localized technical and technical talents for the development of Chinese-funded enterprises in Africa, and built a high-quality platform for Chinese technology and Chinese products to "go global."Editor/XuNing
