On the morning of December 4, 2021, the construction of the Guangxi Guilin to Qinzhou Port Expressway (Yongfu Sanhuang to Liuzhou section) officially started, which marked the opening of another traffic artery between Liuzhou and Guilin international tourist resorts and the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration.

It is understood that the project is located in the north-central part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in the new ecological zone in the north of Liuzhou City, Liucheng County, Rong'an County, Luzhai County, and Yongfu County of Guilin City. Between North Expressway and Quannan Expressway.

The total length of the main line of the project is 78.968 kilometers. There are a total of 1,6375.2 meters/87 bridges (including the main line bridges in the overpass range), including 3,930.8 meters of extra-large bridges, 9,557 meters of 23 bridges, and medium and small bridges/2887.4 meters/61. Bridges account for 20.737% of the route length. The culvert is 7517.864 meters/144 roads. A total of 4436.5m/8 tunnels (the average length of the left and right holes) were laid, including 0 long tunnels, 3497m/5 middle tunnels, and 939.5m/3 short tunnels. The tunnels accounted for 5.618% of the route length. Bridges and tunnels on the whole line account for 26.355% of the length of the route. There are 7 interchanges (including 4 hub interchanges, of which the Huaqiao North Hub and Dongquan Huaqiao West Hub interchange ramps are included in the 15 standard implementation); separated interchanges 856 meters/7 locations ; 2 service areas; 1 management center; 1 maintenance work area; 4 toll stations; 1 bridge-slab interchange connection line (14.369 kilometers long).

The bridge-slab connecting line starts at Lajingtun, Qiaoban Township, Rong'an County, Liuzhou City. The route runs east-west, passing through Lajingtun, Yangshan Reservoir, Xianglutun, Zhongcuntun, and Yangshan Village, and enters the boundary of Sanhuang Town, Yongfu County, Guilin City. Continue to the east, passing Jiya Village, Caitian Village and Dongtian Tun, ending at County Road X603, and then connecting "S302 Yongfu (Guangfu) to Sanhuang Highway". The total length of the route is 14.369 kilometers, with two-way two-lane roads, and the standard section of the roadbed is 10 meters wide.

According to Ren Yi, general manager of Guangxi Yongfu-Liuzhou Expressway Co., Ltd., the construction period of the project is 36 months. After completion, products from counties and districts along the line can quickly reach all parts of the country, which will also promote the strengthening of Liuzhou’s sub-central city in Guangxi. The project strengthens Guangxi's strategic position as the regional bridgehead in the national strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative, and injects stronger impetus into Guangxi's economic development.
