Recently, the Department of Transportation of Guangdong Province issued the "Approval on the Preliminary Design of the Railway from Shantou Station of the New Guangmei-Shantou Railway to the Guangao Port Area of Shantou".
The railway project line from Shantou Station of Guangmeishan Railway to Guangao Port Area starts from the southern end of Pusuchang in Shantou Station, crosses Jinsha East Road and runs to Shantou Railway, crosses Shantou Bay and enters Guangao Port Area via Haojiang District. The total length of the new line is 16.614km (including the 0.589km section from Changping East Road to Jinsha East Road), of which the Shantou-Haojiang section is 10.708km, the Haojiang-Guangao section is 5.906km, the tunnel length is 9.970km/1, a super bridge Length 3.779km/2 seats. There are Shantou Station (not included), Haojiang Station (reserved), and Guangao Station on the whole line.
The section from Shantou to Haojiang is Grade I, and the section from Haojiang to Guangao is a dedicated line. The number of main railway lines is single line (double lines are reserved for Shantou to Haojiang section). The design speed is 160km/h for the section from Shantou to Haojiang, and 80km/h for the section from Haojiang to Guangao.
The project is responsible for the collection and distribution of goods in the Guangao Port Area and the Lingang Industry. In the initial stage, only cargo trains will be operated. The operating conditions for intercity trains from Shantou to Haojiang are reserved, and the intercity EMUs and freight cars will run on the same line in the near and long term. The Shantou-Haojiang section is responsible for the passing of intercity trains from Shantou to Puning. This line is mainly for container cargo exchanges between the Guang'ao Port Area and Shantou North. The bulk container cargo should be organized as far as possible to start direct trains; the empty traffic flow should be organized as much as possible to return as a whole; the general cargo and sporadic container traffic flow from Guang'ao Station to Shantou North Station Transportation of small running trains; Shantou North Station and the adjacent technical operation stations Longchuan North Station and Meizhou Station mutually arrange sections and pick up and hang trains.
The main line adopts 60kg/m steel rail, the section from Shantou to Haojiang is paved with a seamless line across the section, and the section from Haojiang to Guangao station is paved with a seamless line outside the station. The double-block ballastless track structure is adopted in the Shantou Bay Tunnel, and the remaining sections are all ballasted track structures. The double-track ballastless track bed in the Shantou Bay Tunnel has been laid at one time. The total construction period of the project is scheduled for 4.5 years (including joint commissioning, joint test and operation test), and the total preliminary design estimate of the project is 3.3 billion yuan. One beam yard is set up across the line, and the design of the Dalin project is carried out in accordance with regulations.
In the future, after the construction of the Shantou-Guangzhou-Aogang Railway is completed, on the basis of comprehensively improving the gathering and distributing capacity of the Guang-Ao Port Area, in the future, the composite passenger transportation function will further strengthen the connection between the north-south area and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. 、Connect the Straits Economic Zone, improve the layout of the regional intercity transportation network, enhance the radiation power of Shantou’s central urban area as the main core of development, and promote the development of Shantou’s integration into the city.
