Singapore's land transportation system is constantly evolving and improving. On December 20, 2021, Tunnel Co., Ltd. issued a listed company announcement. Tunnel Co., Ltd. Urban Construction International and South Korea Sambo Singapore Branch formed a joint venture and won the bid for the "Singapore Inter-island Line CR102 Bid". The winning bid amounted to 780 million Singapore dollars, which is approximately RMB. 3.635 billion yuan, of which Tunnel Construction International accounted for 70%.

The Cross Island Line is the eighth subway line planned by the Singapore government and will be constructed in three phases. In the first phase, 12 subway stations will be built, including 4 interchange stations. After the completion of this subway line, it will connect the east and west sides of Singapore. It is expected that the daily passenger flow will exceed 600,000 in the early stage, and it can increase to 1 million in the long term, which will improve the efficiency of residents' travel and improve the energy level of Singapore's urban rail transit. The construction period of the project is about 8 years, and it is planned to be completed by the end of 2029. The CR102 section of Urban Construction International’s winning bid is located on the east side of the Inter-island Line, below Singapore’s Changi Airport. It mainly includes the design and construction of 5 shield tunnels, 7 connecting passages, 2 sections of open-cut tunnels and 1 supporting building, the total length of the tunnel is about 6 kilometers.
