January 3, 2022 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kazakhstan. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, China-Kazakhstan relations have gone through an extraordinary course of development and achieved fruitful results that have attracted the attention of the world.

Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao said that China was one of the first countries to recognize Kazakhstan's independence and establish diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan. Over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Kazakhstan relations have withstood the test of international vicissitudes, basically reaching a major stage every ten years, achieving leapfrog development from friendly relations to permanent comprehensive strategic partnerships.

Zhang Xiao said that especially in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Kazakhstan relations have developed in a more stable, mature, and resilient direction. Politically, the two countries support each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests, and carry out fruitful cooperation within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, making important contributions to the promotion of peace and stability in the region and the world. In economics and trade, the bilateral trade volume has increased by more than 60 times over the past 30 years. The Belt and Road Initiative has been deeply integrated with the "Bright Road" new economic policy, and investment and production capacity cooperation projects between the two countries have blossomed, benefiting the people of both countries. In the field of humanities, the cooperation between the two countries in culture, education, sports, and science and technology has yielded fruitful results, which has shortened the distance between the hearts of the two peoples. The two sides have watched and helped each other and cooperated closely in the anti-epidemic cooperation, which fully demonstrates "seeing the truth in adversity."

Chinese Consul General in Almaty Jiang Wei said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 30 years ago, China-Kazakhstan cooperation in various fields has continued to develop steadily on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. China and Kazakhstan take advantage of their geographical advantages and actively promote trade cooperation and personnel exchanges between the two countries through various measures such as opening ports, oil and gas transportation, railway transportation, and opening of border cooperation centers. The China-Kazakhstan Lianyungang logistics cooperation base has become Kazakhstan's direct access to the Pacific Ocean, helping Kazakhstan's products to be sold to Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asian countries.

In the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Kazakhstan relations have become a model of good-neighborly friendship between countries.
