The Suzhou Metro Line 2 project constructed by the Second Company of China Railway Construction and Bridge Bureau includes construction tasks of two stations and two sections, namely Shantang Street Station, Shilu Station, Shantang Street Station to Shilu Station, and Shilu Station to Guangzhou. Starting from the technology, the project department proposes to add a temporary pump station and a pipeline culvert across the foundation pit, which solves the problem of the sewage pipe at the current stage and the future construction of some construction areas. Traffic relief is a major problem restricting the construction of the project due to the inability to cut off the road for construction. The project proposes a working method of "seeing the seams and inserting needles", avoiding peak hours to the greatest extent, and carrying out night construction to the maximum extent, which greatly relieves the pressure of traffic relief and improves the construction efficiency.

The two sections of the Suzhou Metro Line 2 project have a total length of 2,202.4 meters and are constructed using the shield method. The interval shield machine continuously and intensively passes through the old houses and cultural relics protection buildings in Shantang Street. When the shield tunnel crossed the Guangji Bridge, a total of 14 giant reinforced concrete piles with a diameter of 1.2 meters intruded into the interval tunnel. In order to effectively solve the problem of traffic relief and the protection of ancient buildings and cultural relics, the project team completed the world's first full-section cutting of the shield machine. The construction technology of group piles crossing the Guangji Bridge has saved the construction cost and the construction period by nearly four months.
