According to reports, after more than two years of intense construction, the Dubai Infinity Bridge was officially opened to traffic. On January 13, 2022, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the bridge.

The bridge across the Dubai Canal will become yet another architectural landmark in Dubai. The bridge will have a box girder structure and be adorned with infinite arches.

The Infinity Bridge is a major component of the Al Shindagha Corridor Project, an extension of Sheikh Rashid Street, Al Mina Street, Al Khaleej Street and Cairo Street, with a total investment of AED 5.3 billion.

The Infinity Bridge is 300 meters long and 15 meters above the water, and the travel time will be shortened to about 16 minutes from the previous 104 minutes. The traffic volume is 24,000 vehicles per hour.

In addition to several developments such as Deira Islands, Dubai Seafront, Dubai Maritime City and Port Rashid, the Al Shindagha Corridor also serves Deira and Bur Dubai, which will reduce travel time from 104 minutes to 16 minutes by 2030. It is expected to serve 1 million people. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
