On February 8, 2022, Lishen Battery held the commencement ceremony of the Chuzhou Base Project in Quanjiao County, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province. It is reported that the Lishen Battery Chuzhou Base Project plans to produce 36GWh of power batteries and energy storage batteries annually, with a total investment of about 15.2 billion yuan. Among them, the first phase is planned to construct 16GWh, and strive to be completed within the year, and put into operation in the first half of next year; in 2025, after the completion of all three phases, the annual output value will reach more than 15 billion yuan.
It is understood that Lishen Battery is a veteran state-owned battery company whose business has covered three major fields: consumer batteries, power batteries and energy storage batteries. In 2020, CETC and China Chengtong signed an equity reorganization and transfer agreement of Lishen Battery. CETC will transfer all the shares of Lishen Battery it holds to China Chengtong for free. China Chengtong will officially enter the company in January 2021. The main shareholder became Lishen Battery.
In 2021, Lishen Battery is vigorously expanding its battery production capacity. On November 16, 2021, Lishen New Energy's industrial base and R&D center project with a total investment of 11.2 billion yuan settled in Xishan District, Wuxi, and plans to build a power battery capacity with an annual output of 24GWh. The first phase of the project will start in 2022 and is expected to be completed and put into production in 2023. Previously, Lishen has built production bases in Tianjin, Qingdao and other regions. Some media predict that Lishen Battery will build a 125GWh production line capacity by 2025. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
