Under the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Kazakhstan energy cooperation continues to deepen. With the joy of the Chinese New Year, good news came from the China-Kazakhstan crude oil pipeline, the first cross-border crude oil pipeline imported by land in China. As of February 7, 2022, the pipeline has delivered a total of over 150 million tons of crude oil to China, reaching 154.5 million. Ton.

Every day, at the Alashankou metering station of the China-Kazakhstan crude oil pipeline located 2.2 kilometers from the China-Kazakhstan border, crude oil from Kazakhstan is continuously entering China through here. The China-Kazakhstan crude oil pipeline starts from Atyrau, Kazakhstan in the west, and ends at the first station of the Alashankou-Dushanzi oil pipeline in the east, with a total length of more than 2,800 kilometers. Since the pipeline was put into use, it has transported more than 10 million tons of oil annually for 12 consecutive years from 2010 to 2021.

Zhang Xin, Metrology Engineer of PetroChina Central Asia Oil and Gas Pipeline Xinjiang Co., Ltd. said: "The China-Kazakhstan Pipeline is China's first transnational crude oil pipeline, which has changed the way that crude oil imports were only transported by sea in the past, realized the diversification of energy imports, and strengthened the Belt and Road Initiative. Energy cooperation among countries along the route has a huge boost to the economy of western China."

In order to ensure the safe operation of the China-Kazakhstan crude oil pipeline, Alashankou Customs supervises the entire process of on-site transportation, maintenance and cleaning of the pipeline, dynamically monitors the imported crude oil at the metering station, and grasps the quality data of the imported crude oil in real time. At the same time, the joint pipeline operation area staff adopted a 24-hour duty system to inspect the pipelines and key equipment in the metering station to effectively ensure safety.

Zhang Jie, Section Chief of Alashankou Customs Supervision No. 5, said: "Alashankou Customs conducts a batch of inspections every day according to the characteristics of pipeline crude oil, and deducts weights such as moisture and impurities according to laboratory test results, saving import costs for enterprises. At the same time, we Regularly organize Sino-Kazakhstan border customs meetings to communicate on the suspension, start-up, testing and maintenance of imported crude oil metering stations to ensure efficient and stable crude oil transportation." After deducting 8335.2 tons of water impurities, the company will save 4.002 million US dollars in procurement costs.Editor/XuNing
