There is only one wind a year, blowing from spring to winter, which is a true portrayal of the natural climate of Fenghuoshan Tunnel. More than 20 employees in the Xiushuihe line workshop of the Golmud section of the China Railway Qinghai-Tibet Group Corporation stick to the tunnel entrance, which is always windy, to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the Qinghai-Tibet aorta. Before the start of construction, the workshop director E Nianming repeatedly urged the employees to pay attention to safety.
Sometimes they beat on the rails, sometimes they lie on the rails to observe the flatness... The workers of the Xiushuihe line workshop of the Golmud section of China Railway Qinghai-Tibet Group Corporation are not afraid of the high cold and lack of oxygen, and they stand here despite the wind and cold.

The frigid wind in the tunnel made it almost impossible to stand, and the whistling wind penetrated through the body. E Nianming stood against the wind, held a measuring tool in his hand, stopped and walked, knelt on the steel surface at minus thirty or forty degrees from time to time, and carefully checked the smoothness of the line.
This 1338-meter-long tunnel, the railway "master" walked back and forth thousands of times. "I know every grass near the Fenghuoshan Tunnel." E Nianming said proudly.
"Stand on the last post and stick to the last Spring Festival." The 54-year-old northeastern man devoted his best years to the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and Fenghuoshan Tunnel, and left the most unforgettable memories.
