Saudi Arabia has a vast territory, but in the past, transportation was very backward. In 1953, 20 years of history, a country with an area of 2.4 million square kilometers had only 200 kilometers of roads, that is, an average of 10,000 square kilometers of roads less than one kilometer. The Saudi government regards the development of a modern highway system as an important part of economic development.
The highway renovation project in Saudi Arabia will see extensive works on the Western Ring Road (WRR) in Riyadh. The work will be carried out by Nesma & Partners in a contract valued at $320 million.
This set was awarded by Diriyah Development Company. Two highway bridges will be demolished and the project will require cutting 1.5 million cubic meters of rock. New tunnel extensions, entry/exit ramps and a bridge will be included in the work. Utilities must also be removed.Editor/XingWentao
