Novgorod is an ancient city in Russia, founded in 859. The capital of Novgorod Oblast. Historic city in northwestern Russia. It crosses both banks of the Volkhov River and is 6 kilometers away from Lake Ilmen in the south. The main road of water and land transportation has a population of 220,000.

On February 21, 2022, Russia plans to build a new bypass project worth about $1.4 billion in Nizhny Novgorod. The project is planned by the Ministry of Urban Planning Activities of the Nizhny Novgorod Region (Volga).

The first phase will be the construction of the Eastern Bypass of Nizhny Novgorod. The second phase will build a new bridge across the Volga River.
