On March 2, 2022, the Energy Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region issued a notice on the issuance of the "14th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy Development of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region", Nei Neng Xin Neng Zi [2022] No. 103, which stated:

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the installed capacity of renewable energy power generation in the autonomous region reached more than 135 million kilowatts, including 89 million kilowatts of wind power and 45 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power generation. The installed capacity of new energy exceeded that of coal-fired thermal power. The weight ratio exceeds 35%. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the newly installed capacity of renewable energy was more than 80 million kilowatts, accounting for more than 60% of the total newly installed capacity, becoming the main force of the newly installed capacity.
