On March 7, 2022, the newly built Xiamen North Railway Station project has entered the main construction stage, and 1,450 builders are grabbing the spring and pressing the "acceleration button" for construction and production.

The newly built Xiamen North Station is located on the north side of the existing station, and the two stations are arranged in parallel. The total construction area of the project is 231,100 square meters, and the shape is fully integrated into the elements of the "Maritime Silk Road", continuing the elements of southern Fujian dwellings and the architectural style of Jiageng at the existing station. After completion, it will be merged with the existing station, and the overall scale can reach 13 stations with 27 lines, supporting various means of transportation such as subway, bus, BRT, etc., to achieve zero-distance transfer within the station.
The subway protection construction is a major difficulty in the project. The operating subway Line 1 is located directly below the project corridor, and the minimum distance between the two is less than 3 meters. It is required that the tunnel deformation during construction shall not exceed 1 cm. The project team adhered to the principle of "plan as a guide, disclosure as action, and monitoring as control", adopted 5G automatic monitoring technology, arranged 83 monitoring points on site, built 6 additional detection and dewatering wells, and covered the entire tunnel for 24-hour continuous monitoring and monitoring of subway structures. Analysis, and comprehensively resolve the risk of subway floating. Use advance drilling to find out the underground conditions and then carry out the construction of anti-uplift piles. The "silo method" is used for earthwork excavation, and manual wells are dug instead of mechanical drilling to ensure the smooth progress of the top pier, connecting beam and other processes.
The project sets up a CNC steel bar processing center on site, and technicians form a "golden partner" with intelligent equipment such as palletizing robots and automatic welding robots. The processing center is divided into five functional areas: raw material storage area, semi-finished product storage area, finished product storage area, processing area and waste storage area to realize standardized, intensive, streamlined and automated production. Mechanized equipment such as intelligent bending machine, steel rolling cage machine, and five-head bending machine are among them. The amount of steel bars in the newly built Xiamen North Station is about 38,000 tons, while the processing center can meet the needs of the site with less than 20 workers, with an average daily output of more than 300 tons.

Recently, the rainy season in Xiamen is approaching. The project team has established seven professional studios including safety and quality, smart construction, and process improvement, to strengthen management levels and fully promote project construction.
As an important station of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway, the newly built Xiamen North Station can meet the needs of high-speed trains with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour entering and leaving Xiamen.
