On March 5, local time, Peruvian President Pedro Castillo and his party inspected the construction site of Port Chancay.
During the inspection, Castillo pointed out that the Port of Chancay project is 80 kilometers away from Lima, and upon completion, it will become an important hub for Peru to face the world and trade with China. The construction of Chancay Port not only promoted the development of international trade, but also promoted the development of Peru's economy and people's livelihood. The Chancai Port Project is China’s first large-scale transportation infrastructure project in Peru. The Peruvian government will give full support to the construction of the project. It is hoped that the project will be completed on schedule and with high quality, so as to serve the economic development of Peru as soon as possible.
The Port of Chancay Project in Peru is undertaken by the consortium of China Harbour and China Communications Fourth Navigation Bureau, including 2 multi-functional berths, 2 special container berths, primary and secondary breakwaters, dredging and backfilling, revetment cofferdams, beach protection, roads , storage yard and comprehensive office area and other construction contents. After the project is completed, it will become an important maritime hub connecting South America through the Belt and Road Initiative, helping Peru to build a logistics distribution center along the Pacific coast, and comprehensively promoting regional economic and social development.
