On March 21, 2022, the opening ceremony of the China-Cambodia Friendship Medical Building Project undertaken by China State Construction was held. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian attended the ceremony.

The China-Cambodia Friendship Medical Building project is located in the center of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The project started construction in October 2018, with a construction land area of about 15,000 square meters and a total construction area of 33,000 square meters.

" Hun Sen thanked China for its assistance to the project, saying that this is another great achievement in the development of Cambodia's health cause, and the result of close cooperation, mutual trust and mutual assistance under the comprehensive strategic partnership and unbreakable friendship between Cambodia and China. He welcomed the arrival of a Chinese medical team composed of experts in Cambodia to help the country fight the epidemic. He encouraged Cambodian doctors to fully learn the professional knowledge of Chinese experts and develop the cause of traditional Chinese medicine in Cambodia.

Wang Wentian said at the ceremony that the China-Cambodia Friendship Medical Building is a prestigious general hospital in Cambodia. Since its establishment, it has played an important role in safeguarding the health of Cambodian people. With the assistance of China and the introduction of high-end medical equipment and a scientific triage and medical care system, the project will become the most modern public hospital in Cambodia. The expanded hospital has also specially set up a department of traditional Chinese medicine, and the Chinese national medical expert group of traditional Chinese medicine is responsible for technical guidance and other work.

The China-Cambodia Friendship Medical Building Project is a people's livelihood project aided by the Chinese government in Cambodia. The project is equipped with first-class medical equipment to provide Cambodian people with higher-level medical services, and play an active role in further deepening the cooperation between China and Cambodia along the Belt and Road. Editor/Ma Xue
