On March 25, 2022, a China-Europe train (Qilu) co-operated by Shandong Expressway Group slowly departed from Zhubao Station in Linyi, and will leave the country through Erenhot Port. It is expected to arrive in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 8 days. This is the first time that Qilu has opened the line from Linyi to Mongolia, and will enter normal operation.

There are 50 containers in this train, full of tires, barbed wire, plywood and other materials, with a value of about 1 million US dollars, which will be used for the construction of China's aid project in Mongolia. The aid project involves schools, welfare institutions, shantytown renovation and other areas of people's livelihood. It has positive significance for improving Mongolia's infrastructure conditions and alleviating the shortage of educational resources. In the future, 3-5 China-Europe trains (Qilu) will be shipped every month for project construction.

Mongolia is China's important trading partner and neighbor. In June 2016, China, Mongolia and Russia signed the "Planning Outline for the Construction of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor". After the economic corridor is completed, it will effectively shorten the distance of transportation routes from China to Europe via Mongolia, and greatly reduce the time cost. The first launch of the China-Europe freight train (Qilu) from Linyi to Ulaanbaatar has made useful explorations to serve foreign aid construction projects and better promote the development of bilateral trade between China and Mongolia.
