Recently, in Jinan, Shandong, China's first 100-megawatt decentralized control energy storage power station was officially put into operation. It can charge 212,000 kWh per charge, which can meet the power consumption of 1,000 households for a month.

Wen Ziqiang, chief engineer of Huangtai Power Plant of Huaneng Shandong Company, said: "Our project currently absorbs the surplus new energy electricity in Shandong Province, which can be charged and discharged twice a day, and can absorb 400,000 kWh of electricity, and then through the demand of the grid, real-time electricity released for use by users.”

The energy storage power station of Huaneng Jinan Huangtai Power Generation Co., Ltd. built by Huaneng Shandong Company is the first batch of energy storage demonstration projects of Shandong Energy Bureau. Using the world's leading high energy density air-cooled lithium iron phosphate energy storage technology, the design life is 25 years. According to estimates, after the energy storage power station is put into operation, the battery capacity utilization rate of the entire station can reach 92%, which is 7 percentage points higher than the current industry average.
