Uzbekistan has begun construction of the main trans-Afghan railway line at an estimated cost of $5 billion. Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have reached an agreement on the construction of a railway line connecting the three countries with a total length of 600 kilometers. The construction of the main railway line will allow Uzbekistan to directly access the main ports of Pakistan, greatly reducing the time and cost of goods transportation.

Mohammad Azfar Ahsan, Chairman of the Pakistan Investment Committee, said: "This project is the most economical and shortest route connecting Central Asia and Pakistan's Karachi, Gwadar and Qasim ports. The region needs to develop southern trade links, to complement the existing northern, eastern and western routes."

Previously, the two heads of state of Ukraine and Pakistan pointed out that the construction of the "Termez-Mazari-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar" strategic railway must be started as soon as possible, which will open the way for Ukraine to enter the international seaport via Pakistan.

Mirziyoyev previously pointed out: "We believe that the construction of a 'project of the century' railway is the common well-being of the two countries and the two peoples. The railway is our common future. After the completion of the line, it will become the link between Pakistan and Pakistan. The closest, cheapest and safest corridor with Central Asia, Ukraine and Karachi/Gwadar/Qasim ports. This railway will completely change the face of our region.”Editor/XingWentao
