The reporter learned that in the promotion of rural revitalization in 2022, the Ministry of Water Resources emphasized that, focusing on food production functional areas, important agricultural product production protection areas and characteristic agricultural product advantage areas, in areas with suitable water and soil resources for poverty alleviation, actively promote qualified areas. Preliminary work will be carried out in large and medium-sized irrigation areas, and efforts will be made to start construction of large-scale irrigation areas such as Qishui, Hubei.

Accelerate the construction of modern large-scale irrigation areas involving poverty alleviation areas, such as the Gengma Irrigation District in Yunnan, the Baise Irrigation District in Guangxi, and the Huangxi Main Canal in Qinghai. Support poverty alleviation areas to promote the construction of a number of medium-sized irrigation areas.

Promote the continued construction and modernization of large and medium-sized irrigation areas involving poverty alleviation areas such as Pishihang in Anhui, Baishatan in Jilin, and Hotan River in Xinjiang. A new round of preparatory work for the continued construction of supporting facilities and water-saving renovation in medium-sized irrigation districts was started.

At the same time, we will further promote the standardized management of irrigation areas, improve the water supply metering facilities in irrigation areas, deepen the comprehensive reform of agricultural water prices, promote the construction of digital irrigation areas, and promote the priority to build effective irrigation areas in large and medium-sized irrigation areas into high-standard farmland.

The relevant person in charge of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Water Resources said at the meeting that the Ningdu Meijiang Irrigation District, with a total investment of 4.4 billion yuan, has completed the project feasibility study and approval.
