On April 17, 2022, it was learned from the relevant departments of Hubei Province that Hubei Province is actively planning to promote the "3+7" 10 major railway projects, giving full play to the advantages of location transportation and market space, strengthening the function of the transportation market hub, and building a new highland for inland opening. Among them, the total investment of these 10 major railway projects is 118.35 billion yuan. In addition, it will vigorously promote the early implementation of five major railway projects, with a total investment of 198.9 billion yuan.

In 2022, Hubei Province will comprehensively promote the "3+7" major railway projects to start construction as soon as possible. Make every effort to strive for relevant state departments to accelerate the preliminary work of three projects, including Xiangjing High-speed Railway, Hewu Section of Yanjiang High-speed Railway, and Wuhan Hub Direct Line, and strive to start construction in the first half of the year. In addition, accelerate the preliminary work of 7 special railway lines including Xiangyang Xiaohe Port and Suizhou Power Plant, and strive to start construction before the third quarter.

At the same time, Hubei Province is actively striving to include the Yichang-Fuling section of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River, and the Xiantao-Honghu-Jianli railway into the annual reserve project plan. A batch of major railway projects will be included in the medium and long-term railway network planning to create conditions for the early start of the project. At the same time, strive to approve the preliminary construction plan of urban (suburban) railways in the province's metropolitan area in the first half of the year (the total mileage is about 270 kilometers and the total investment is about 82 billion yuan).

Top 10 Railway Projects

The Xiangyang-Jingmen high-speed railway, passing through Xiangyang, Jingmen and other places, has a total length of 117 kilometers and an investment of 18.3 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed in 2025.

The Wuhan hub through line, passing through Wuhan, Xiaogan and other places, has a total length of 75 kilometers and an investment of 50.9 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed in 2026.

The Hefei-Wuhan section of the high-speed railway along the river passes through Wuhan, Huanggang and other places. The Hubei section is 160 kilometers long, with an investment of 42.2 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed in 2026.

The Wuhan Grain Economic Development Railway Special Line passes through Wuhan, with a total length of 3.3 kilometers and an investment of 1.04 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed in 2023.

The dedicated railway line of Songzi Cheyanghe Port Area passes through Jingzhou, with a total length of 4.37 kilometers and an investment of 630 million yuan. It is planned to be completed in 2023.

Guodian Hubei Electric Power Suizhou Power Plant dedicated line passes through Suizhou, with a total length of 13.5 kilometers and an investment of 560 million yuan. It is planned to be completed in 2023.

Xiangyang Xiaohe Port Area Shugang Railway, passing through Xiangyang, has a total length of 16.6 kilometers and an investment of 1.33 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed in 2024.

The Shugang Railway in Mushenyuan Port Area, Jingzhou, passes through Jingzhou, with a total length of 8.56 kilometers and an investment of 940 million yuan. It is planned to be completed in 2024.

5 major railway projects

The Yichang-Fuling section of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River passes through Yichang and Enshi in our province, with an investment of 69.1 billion yuan and a total length of 305 kilometers. It is planned to start construction next year and be completed in 2026.

The Xiantao-Honghu-Jianli Railway, passing through Xiantao and Jingzhou, has a total length of 80 kilometers and an investment of 12.7 billion yuan. It is planned to start construction next year and complete in 2026.

The Fuyang-Huanggang section of the Beijing-Kowloon high-speed railway passes through Huanggang, with a total length of 113 kilometers and an investment of 18.6 billion yuan. It is planned to start construction next year and be completed in 2027.

The Yichang-Changde section of the Hunan high-speed railway, with a total length of 76 kilometers and an investment of 16.5 billion yuan, is planned to start in 2024 and complete in 2027.
