On April 17, 2022, the Datang Wenchang Wengtian Concentrated Photovoltaic Base 100MW agricultural-photovoltaic complementary + energy storage demonstration project invested and constructed by Datang Hainan Energy Development Co., Ltd. was successfully completed and put into operation. The project is a key project in Hainan Province, and is currently the largest single-capacity “photovoltaic + energy storage” project in Hainan.

The project has an investment of 680 million yuan, and the utilization hours in the first year after it is put into operation can reach more than 1,400 hours, providing an average of over 174 million kWh of pure green and clean power to Hainan Power Grid every year. Compared with coal-fired power generation, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 144,000 tons per year, which is equivalent to the annual absorption of 6,000 mu of forest. The smooth commissioning of the project provides an important pure green power supply and guarantee for the upcoming Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference to build a green forum in an all-round way.

In the future operation, the project will also provide clean power guarantee for local key industries such as Wenchang Aerospace City, Qinglan Port, Wenchang Agriculture and Fishery Breeding, and provide green power supply for the Qiongbei Economic Circle of "Haicheng Wending". Hainan plays an important role in regional energy supply and alleviating the severe shortage of electricity.Editor/Ma Xue
