After ten years of hard work, the 20-kilometer-long Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway Control Project "Yuelongmen Tunnel", following the completion of the left line at the end of November 2021, the right line of the tunnel was also completed on the morning of April 25, 2022. This marks the completion of the "Yuelongmen Tunnel" of the Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway, and the Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway has officially entered the offline construction stage.

The Yuelongmen Tunnel is located in Gaochuan Township, Anzhou District and Tumen Township, Mao County, Aba Prefecture.

It is precisely because of the complex geological conditions that the tunnel can only be excavated two to six meters per day on average, and only a few centimeters in 24 hours at the most difficult time. The construction unit adopted the method of "long tunnel and short fight", excavating multiple working faces from the oblique side and working at the same time, which also took ten years.

"Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway is a project under construction that has attracted the attention of the global civil engineering community. The difficulty of the project and the arduous task are unprecedented in the history of China's railway construction. The Yuelongmen Tunnel is designed with 'flat guide, inclined shaft, drainage tunnel' and other auxiliary aids. The tunnel, plus the 40-kilometer length of the two main holes, the total construction length exceeds 71 kilometers." The Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway is an important part of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway planning network, with a design speed of 200km per hour.
