On April 26, 2022, the first large shield tunnel in Anhui Province, the shield machine "Wanjiang Fuxing" on the left line of the Wuhu Chengnan River Crossing Tunnel, successfully started to help the construction of the first Yangtze River tunnel in Anhui.

The "Wanjiang Fuxing" launched this time was developed by the China Railway 14th Bureau Group, and was tailored for the special stratum of the Wuhu City South Crossing River Tunnel. The excavation diameter was 15.07 meters and it was about 5 stories high. The shield machine is currently the most advanced shield construction equipment in China. It has a number of advanced functions. It is equipped with a compound atmospheric-pressure tool changer that can realize hobbing interchangeability and a series of intelligent monitoring systems.

The tunnel across the river in the south of Wuhu is 5.96 kilometers long, of which the shield tunnel is 3.96 kilometers long. The shield tunnel is designed with two lines and two holes. The shield machine "Wanjiang Struggle" on the right line of the tunnel has begun to excavate and excavate on September 17, 2021. At present, the excavation of 1,560 meters has been completed, and it is advancing towards the Yangtze River. The "Wanjiang Fuxing" shield machine on the left line started, and the tunnel officially entered the stage of full-scale construction.
