North Extension of Line 2
The northern extension of Line 2 starts at Aigehao Road Station, and is laid underground along Yupan Road, connecting to the already operating Qihe Station, with a length of about 4.67 kilometers.
North Extension of Line 4
The northern extension of Line 4 starts at Kwun Tong Road Station, and is laid underground along Yuyao Road and other roads, connecting to the already operating Longdaobang Station, with a length of about 7.13 kilometers.
North Extension of Line 7
The northern extension of Line 7 starts from Chunfeng Road Station, and is laid underground along Zhongshi Road, Taidong Road, and Nantiancheng Road, and connects to Moyang Station under construction, with a length of about 7.11 kilometers.
Previously, the Suzhou Rail Transit Phase III construction plan was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. According to the construction plan: Line 2 will be extended to the north, connecting Suzhou High-speed Railway New City and Weitang Plate; Line 4 will be extended from south to north through the central service core of the China-Japan (Suzhou) Local Development Cooperation Demonstration Zone, and communicate with each other together. It connects the national-level Xiangcheng Economic Development Zone, the Jiangsu-Xiangcheng Cooperation Zone, and the provincial-level Xiangcheng High-tech Zone, and forms a transfer station with the central service core of the China-Japan (Suzhou) Local Development Cooperation Demonstration Zone with Line 7 under construction; The northern section extends westward to the Huangdai area of the provincial high-tech zone.
In addition to the extension lines of Lines 2, 4 and 7, new progress has been made in the currently under construction of Lines 7 and 8.
Line 8: Recently, the main structure of Lumu Old Street Station of Metro Line 8 was successfully capped. The trial operation is expected to start in September 2024. After completion, it will greatly improve the east-west travel conditions in the northern part of the ancient city.
