Oman's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in partnership with the government and the private sector, announced 18 investment opportunities worth over $3.8 billion. Of these investment opportunities, 6 projects belong to the tourism industry with a value of $2.52 billion, and the remaining 12 waste management projects related to the circular economy sector are worth $1.37 billion. The scope of work includes leisure parks, zoos and water parks of international specification, as well as commercial areas, educational and entertainment centers, residential areas and hotels.
Heritage and Tourism Minister Salim Mohamed Marooqi confirmed that the proposed projects represent an integrated and promising model. They are the first of many investment opportunities, especially in tourism, which is expected to exceed $38.9 billion over the next 20 years. These projects are the starting point for laying a solid foundation for tourism and adding a diversifying dimension to the national economy.
