Recently, the first unit of Burundi Huzibazi Hydropower Station, designed and constructed by POWERCHINA, was put into operation, marking the official entry of the first unit of the power station into operation.

The Hujibazi Hydropower Station is China's largest aid project in Burundi and a symbol of the friendly relations between China and Burundi. The power station is located in the lower reaches of the Huzibazi River in the south of the country's capital, Bujumbura, with an installed capacity of 15,000 kilowatts. The power station is known as the "Three Gorges" in Burundi, and has received high attention from the governments of China and Burundi. The President of Burundi attended the groundbreaking ceremony and said that this project will expand the field of cooperation between Burundi and China and enhance the level of bilateral relations.Editor/Ma Xue
