Saudi Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser said at the opening of the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh that the kingdom aims to achieve $100 billion in investment in aviation by 2030. Saudi Arabia is about to undertake great aviation reforms aimed at transforming the country into the center of the Middle East aviation industry. The Saudi government has ambitious plans to build one of the world's best airlines in the coming years.
He said: "We will also launch another national airline to become one of the best in the world, we will upgrade all our facilities, infrastructure and airports, with our transport hub capital Riyadh and western city Kyrgyzstan Da leads."
Currently the national airline of Saudi Arabia; Saudi Arabian Airlines is headquartered in Jeddah. Saudia's main hub is King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. Its goal is to handle 300 million passengers worldwide and transport 5 million tons of cargo to 250 destinations by 2030. Investments in the aviation industry will also create more jobs for Saudi nationals.
