The construction of a strong country in transportation takes the lead, and the investment in the transportation field in various provinces continues to expand. On May 6, 2022, the reporter learned from the Hubei Provincial Department of Transportation that after careful sorting and vigorous promotion, 7 expressways including the Xiantao-Honghu section of the Wuhan-Songzi Expressway and the Qichun East Section of the Qitai Expressway will be included in 2022. The construction plan has brought Hubei Province to 35 expressways planned and under construction in 2022, with a total investment scale of 292.6 billion yuan, providing transportation hard support for the realization of Hubei's goal of "continuing to be exciting". Since 2022, the construction of expressways in Hubei Province has been a success. At 11:00 on April 29, the first pile of the foundation of the north main tower on the Huanggang side of the Yanji Yangtze River Bridge was drilled, marking the first four-cable suspension bridge in my country. The main project has entered the full-scale construction stage; on March 30, the Danjiangkou Reservoir Bridge on Shixi Expressway made a breakthrough - the first steel box girder was successfully hoisted, which is the world's largest span partially ground-anchored composite girder cable-stayed bridge; On March 28, the construction of the Xiantao section of the Wuhan-Songzi Expressway started, with a total length of 36.5 kilometers and a total investment of about 7.8 billion yuan.

At present, Hubei Province has more than 1,000 kilometers of expressways under construction, of which 5 Yangtze River Bridges are being constructed simultaneously, which is rare in the history of transportation construction in Hubei. The project includes the Second E-Huang River Crossing Channel (Yanji Yangtze River Bridge and its connection), Jingzhou Libu Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge, Wusong Expressway Jiangling to Songzi Section (including Guanyinsi Yangtze River Bridge), Dangyang via Zhijiang to Songzi Expressway (including Bailizhou Yangtze River Bridge), Xingang Expressway (Shuangliu Yangtze River Highway Bridge and its connection), etc., with a construction mileage of more than 200 kilometers and a total investment of more than 72 billion yuan.

The construction climax is set off with the attitude of running at the beginning and sprinting at the start. With the completion and opening of the first phase of the Ezhou Airport Expressway on May 1, the southern section of Xiangyang Ring Expressway, the northern section of Zaoqian Expressway in Xiangyang, and the Wuhan-Hekou section of Wuhan-Dawu Expressway will be completed within the year.

Expressway construction is the hard support for infrastructure construction. "We race against time to speed up the construction of expressways, focus on the decomposition of image progress, goals and tasks, speed up the advance of preliminary work, and strive for central policies." The relevant person in charge of the key office of the Hubei Provincial Department of Transportation revealed that the investment in expressway construction in 2022 will reach 44.4 billion. Yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20%.

Expressways are also an important link in promoting the "hard connectivity" of regional transportation. It is reported that Hubei Province plans to open 139 dead ends bottleneck roads within three years, including 17 expressways, many of which are included in the national 14th Five-Year Transportation Development Plan, including the expansion and reconstruction of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway from Wuhan to Huangshi, etc. Expressways, the implementation of the construction of inter-provincial expressways such as the Ankang-Laifeng Expressway from the Chongqing-Ejie-Jianshi section, etc. Keywords: infrastructure, infrastructure construction, domestic engineering news, planning and investment

By the end of 2021, the mileage of expressways in Hubei Province has reached 7,300 kilometers, ranking seventh in the country and first in the central region. In 2022, we will strive to build 170 kilometers of expressways. Editor / Xu Shengpeng
