On May 23, 2022, the 50,000-ton battery-grade lithium hydroxide project invested and constructed by Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Industry Co., Ltd. officially started construction in Fengcheng High-tech Zone. This is another lithium battery new energy material project invested and constructed in Yichun after the company invested in a new lithium metal project with an annual output of 7,000 tons in the Yichun Economic Development Zone in April 2021.

It is understood that Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Industry Co., Ltd. is the head enterprise and listed company of the lithium battery industry chain. It is the largest lithium salt producer in China and the second largest in the world. and power battery giants to supply high-quality lithium salt products. At present, the lithium salt production capacity is about 120,000 tons, of which the annual production capacity of lithium hydroxide is about 80,000 tons.

Ganfeng Lithium, as the world's largest lithium metal producer and Jiangxi's largest enterprise by market value, has developed rapidly and plays a pivotal role in the field of lithium battery new energy. The lithium hydroxide project with an annual output of 50,000 tons, with a total investment of 2 billion yuan, covers an area of 430 acres, with a construction area of about 200,000 square meters. It is planned to be completed in two phases within three years. After the production reaches the standard, an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of battery-grade lithium hydroxide can be formed. It is estimated that the annual tax payment will be 500 million yuan, and more than 500 people will be employed. The completion of the project will surely inject strong impetus into the city's economic and social development, and it will be an important milestone for Fengcheng to actively integrate into the lithium battery new energy industry and realize industrial transformation and upgrading under the implementation of the dual-carbon national strategy.
