On the morning of May 26, 2022, the world's first non-supplementary combustion compressed air energy storage power station designed by CECH Jiangsu Institute - Jiangsu Jintan Salt Cave Compressed Air Energy Storage National Test Demonstration Project Unit 1 was successfully connected to the grid and operated stably. After completing the continuous full-load energy storage-power generation trial operation, it was officially put into operation, becoming a milestone in the development of new energy storage technology.
The first-phase project of Jintan Salt Cave Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Station has 60 megawatts of energy storage power and installed power generation capacity, and the energy storage capacity is 300 MWh. The completed first-phase project can output 30 10,000 kWh of electricity can supply 60,000 residents a day, and the annual power generation is about 100 million kWh.
Salt cavern compressed air energy storage is to compress the air into the salt cavern by using low-valley electric energy, and then release the compressed air to generate electricity when the electricity consumption peaks, so as to realize the peak shaving and valley filling, and improve the power grid regulation capacity. It is to build a new power system and achieve the dual carbon goal The important technology is simply like a super green power bank. The commissioning of the project will play an important role in improving the energy structure and ensuring energy security in the Yangtze River Delta region.Editor/Ma Xue
