On May 28, 2022, US Secretary of State Blinken said in a recent policy speech: China poses the most serious long-term challenge to the international order. What impact does the relationship have? Wang Yi said that this speech on China policy reflects serious deviations in the US world outlook, China outlook, and China-US relations.

Wang Yi said that what we want to tell the US is that this world is not what the US described. The most urgent task facing the international community is to jointly safeguard human life and health, promote world economic recovery, and maintain world peace and tranquility. This requires establishing a sense of community with a shared future and practicing the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. The Belt and Road Initiative, Global Development Initiative and Global Security Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping have been widely welcomed and supported by the international community. On the other hand, the US adheres to centralism and exceptionalism, holds a Cold War mentality, follows the logic of hegemony, and promotes bloc politics. This is moving against the trend of history and will only lead to conflict and confrontation and divide the international community. In fact, the United States has become a source of chaos that shakes the current international order and an obstacle to the democratization of international relations.

What we want to tell the US is that China is not the China imagined by the US. China's development and revitalization has a clear historical logic and strong endogenous driving force. The common modernization of 1.4 billion people is a huge progress for mankind, not a threat or challenge to the world. We rely on the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, on the unity, hard work and struggle of the Chinese people, and on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Our objective is to make people live a better life and make greater contributions to the world, not to replace and challenge others. We are advancing reform and opening up at a higher level and achieving a higher level of win-win cooperation. We will surely become a better version of ourselves and make the world a better place because of China.

What we want to tell the US is that China-US relations are not a zero-sum game designed by the US. President Xi Jinping pointed out that whether China and the U.S. can handle each other's relations well has a bearing on the future and destiny of the world, and it is a question of the century that must be answered by the two countries. When answering this question, the US should first realize that unipolar hegemony is unpopular, that group confrontation has no future, that small courtyards are closed and regressed, and that decoupling, cutting off supplies, harming others and harming itself. There can be fair competition between countries, and there will also be competition between China and the United States, but it should not be a vicious competition. We would like to compare fairly, who can govern the country better and who can make more contributions to the world. The Chinese people have this confidence and confidence. We will never give in to blackmail and coercion, and will firmly defend China's sovereignty, security and development interests. Any suppression and containment can only make the Chinese people more united. The Chinese people have this backbone and ambition.Editor/Ma Xue
