The UAE has invested more than $40 billion in clean energy over the past 15 years and plans to invest $160 billion in clean and renewable energy over the next 30 years on the path to net zero. This is the remarks made by Abdullah bin Touk Almari, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on May 26.

Energy security is a top priority, UAE Minister of Economy Almari said at the conference titled Transition to a Green Middle East. This is what we need to really understand. The ongoing global fragmentation and energy supply will truly affect all aspects of the world's energy future.

Experts' conversation at the World Economic Forum in Davos will focus on the cooperative actions Middle East leaders must take to navigate between net zero goals and socioeconomic realities. It comes at a critical time when the next two UN climate change conferences will be hosted in the Middle East by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates respectively.Editor/XingWentao
