Indonesian company WaskitaKarya will execute a major road contract in South Sudan. The project is valued at $1.43 billion and the engineering package was awarded by the government of South Sudan.

The plan is to build a new road with a total length of 1,000 kilometers. The project is divided into four parts, each about 250 kilometers long. Construction work will begin in mid-2022.

Concrete elements for the project will be supplied by WaskitaKarya's specialist subsidiary WaskitaBetonPrecast in a deal valued at $243.4 million.
